Young ICON

ICON is an autonomous body of Indian Society of Medical & Pediatric Oncology. ICON is an equal opportunity organization and it was founded in 1999 with the goal of promoting serious research in the field of Oncology of the highest standards. Following its Mission Statement: “To promote the development of oncology as a subspecialty in India.” ICON has been encouraging the junior members of the oncology fraternity to express their opinions and participate actively in research.

The young ICON initiative was started in 2002 with the idea of providing a platform for oncology students to present their experiences and groom themselves into a better researcher, critic, orator and reviewer. Since then, ICON has organized several activities for oncology students at each of the ICON Meets (which are held twice a year). Young ICON has grown from strength to strength.
